Synapse is a website offering exercises in logic, memory, attention, language and speed for daily practice. It is provided free of charge. We may add, change or remove exercises at any time.

Synapse is intended for education and entertainment. It is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, prevent or assess any medical or psychological condition, and its scores are not a measure of intelligence, cognitive ability or health.

We make no claim that using Synapse improves your memory or intelligence, improves your performance at work or in school, or prevents or delays cognitive decline. Nothing on this site is medical advice. If you have concerns about your memory, attention or thinking, speak to a qualified health professional.

You need an account only to save your progress. Give an email address you control, keep your password confidential, and do not share your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. We may suspend or close accounts used to abuse the service or other users.

Synapse is written for a general audience. The exercises can be used without an account at any age. To create an account you must be at least 13, and if you are below the age of digital consent in your country — between 13 and 16 depending on the country, 13 in Portugal — you need the permission of a parent or guardian.

Do not attempt to break the security of the service or to access data belonging to other users. Do not scrape the site or access it through automated means. Do not reverse engineer it, and do not resell or redistribute its content.

The exercises, texts, graphics, design and code of Synapse belong to Descobrilança Unipessoal LDA. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial practice. Everything else requires our written permission.

We do our best to keep Synapse available and your progress intact, but we provide it as it is: we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we do not guarantee that data will never be lost. We may change or discontinue the service; if we discontinue it, we will say so on this site in advance.

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. This removes your profile and your entire session history permanently. You can also simply stop using the site.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of Synapse. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Portuguese law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Disputes fall to the courts of Lisbon; as a consumer you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence, and you may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
